Summerville Beach Retreat is a short 2 kilometer drive (on The Lighthouse Route) from exit 20, off Highway #103 at Summerville, Queens County. We are just 90 minutes from Halifax. Summerville has been a popular travel destination in Nova Scotia for decades, but only over the last 10 years has the area developed into an important resort and recreation destination.

The main attraction continues to be... Summerville Beach. This white sandy beach and provincial picnic park is among the most impressive recreational facilities in the province. The huge, horseshoe beach is seldom crowded and the well-preserved dunes provide great cover for nesting Piping Plovers. There are restaurants, adventure tour companies, craft shops and 12 other magnificent beaches all within a 10 mile radius of home.

And we call our chalets "home" because they are more like home, in size and comfort level. Each of our five, two-story chalets comes complete with open beam ceilings, pine kitchen cabinets, rich wood flooring, full-size appliances, cozy furniture and yes, an air-tight woodstove with all the wood you can burn. Laundry facilities are available and one of the units is wheelchair accessible. Each unit also has a coffeemaker, a microwave, an outside deck and a barbecue and our newest chalet (built in 1999) comes complete with a Jacuzzi. And guests can enjoy our new in ground, heated swimming pool designed for hours of family fun and relaxation.

The chalets of Summerville Beach Retreat are all neatly positioned among the hardwood trees, on a steep hill overlooking Summerville Beach. The view is breathtaking, especially from the balcony of one of the larger units. The sound of the surf is a constant reminder of the power and beauty that surrounds you. It is a natural sedative for sound sleep.

Summerville Beach Retreat is open year around. All chalets all fully winterized.

Join us...for a romantic encounter, a family outing or a quiet country getaway.
